Water/Air/Tree Teahouse Installation
ITO team Beatrice Theil and Peter Granser created an installation in a contemporary interpretation of a Japanese tea house at the Chá Camélia tea farm, offering visitors a unique space to explore the intersection of art and tea culture. During their artist residency in May and June 2024, Granser captured the essence of the region north of Porto, Portugal, through a series of evocative photographs. The installation features a selection of Granser's images, guiding visitors through the farm's terroir and culminating in a central tea table display within the tea house. This immersive experience allows guests to engage with both the visual art and the sensory pleasures of tea.
The tea house has been established as a permanent fixture on the Chá Camélia farm, accessible to the public beyond the initial opening period. Visitors can experience this fusion of art and tea culture during guided tours and tasting sessions. For more details on visiting the installation, interested parties are encouraged to contact Chá Camélia directly. This innovative project seamlessly blends traditional tea culture with contemporary art, creating a multisensory experience that celebrates the local landscape and the art of tea cultivation in Europe.
